Depending on your destination, you could try camping (there?s nothing like sleeping under the stars on a summer?s night), backpacker?s lodges (where you?re certain to meet other friendly people), or even youth hostels (especially in Europe). If you have timeshare in South Africa, you might be able to swop it for overseas accommodation ? talk to your timeshare company about that. Some air tickets will also include credit towards hotels or car hire.
