Iziko Museums of South Africa is getting into the spirit of things with this year’s International Museum Day with free entrance to most of its facilities on Thursday.
With the exception of Groot Constantia Estate, museum-goers will be able to experience the full-blown wonder of some of South Africa’s premier archival institutes, including the South African National Gallery and the South African Museum.
From sculptures to skeletons, there’s something for everyone, and it’s a great – and cost-effective – way to explore our country’s rich culture.
“The museums that make up Iziko have their own history and character, presenting extensive art, social and natural history collections that reflect our diverse African heritage,” says Iziko. “Iziko is a public entity and non-profit organisation that brings together these museums under a single governance and leadership structure.”
The full list of museums offering free entry tomorrow is as follows:
- The Bo-Kaap Museum
