Agreed
"); document.write("After my first few jaunts to Europe in cattle class I eventually decided that, due to the frequency of my travels, I had to upgrade. This resulted in a change of airline sadly from SAA to Virgin Atlantic as they offer Premium Economy which is a cut above cattle but not quite business/first.

Sadly though on one trip I got the chance to fly home Upper Class... soft duvet's, onboard beauty therapist, flat bed-like seat, nice jim jams to change into and so much more space to move around in than my old flat... and that's excluding the Upper Class lounge before even boarding the plane. You could have a haircut, get a massage, take a shower, help yourself to the free buffet or complimentary bar, read in the library, use the free wireless broadband or simply relax in the lounge!

I actually avoid travelling now if I can help it... I just can't take knowing what I'm missing!. don664"); document.write("
First Class all the way!
"); document.write("I've had the priveledge of being upgraded to both Business and First Class. I have to say that SAA's business class is pretty good! Fully reclining seat, great food, great staff and miles ahead of economy. I've travelled economy so many times though that I can live with it for 11 hours (not more really)- the answer is to simply get hold of as much whiskey as possible. . Mark"); document.write("
Quite Agree
"); document.write("I am blessed to have travelled economy, premium, business & first (in that order) and I must say that since I got to first, I have realised that going back to economy is something I honestly cannot do anymore!! Although I will not fork out money for first on BA (or fly them if I can avoid it!) I will certainly pay for business or upper class or not fly at all, since unlike Mark, I cannot take whiskey! It really is difficult to fly economy again after experiencing the comfort and courtesies in the priviledged class!!!. Kemi"); document.write("
Nice One
"); document.write("Good article Dan. Maybe one day your former Dodo teammate will know your pain, till then i heed you words of wisdom and wait with bated breath for the Euromillions results!

The fares
"); document.write("Economy R10 000
Preiere Economy R20 000
Business R48 000
First R 90 000

For 11 hours?

You must be joking.. Martyin F"); document.write("
1st Class
"); document.write("Have been on SAA economy and Business but nothing compares with Emerites, was on business which was totally fantastic and was upgraded 2nd leg to 1st class, fantastic.

With Virgin, there Upper class is way better than any primium economy or business class of any airline flying not only to Southern Africa but anywhere. Gary"); document.write("
It's not just the flight ...
"); document.write("My best experience was waltzing up to an empty check-in desk, chatting to the beaming attendant while she processed my details, and then NOT joining the hundred-grumpy-person-long queue to go through security, but walking through on the 'Fast Track', where I still had to remove shoes and coat and do all the other things, but didn't need to wait behind a horde of tired and grumpy people to do so. I won't even begin to compare departure lounge facilities! A travel agent once told me that the ticket costs four times the price because you take up four times the amount of space .... first class travel
"); document.write("Well am afraid to say that once you have flown 1st class or business on an international flight it is hard to sit at the back in \"Comedy Class\" as a 7 year old once said to me.As far as I am concerned there is nothing to beat Emirates 1st and business and of course their air fares are an extra bonus as well. But now with BA who have added World Traveller Plus, inbetween Club and Economy with better seats, albeit not a flat bed,a smaller cabin, easier check in and an extra luggage bonus...there are ways and means to travelling a bit better. but give me Club or 1st class anyday!!!. shirls"); document.write("
