Etihad Airways has increased the baggage allowance for Coral Economy class passengers to 30kg, except on routes to and from the US and Canada, which remain on a per-piece basis.
Allowances for Pearl Business Class and Diamond First Class, raised earlier this year, are unchanged.
In addition, extra allowances of between 10 and 20kg apply for bookings by Etihad Guest members while the new guidelines will also allow for up to 15kg of scuba equipment and golf bags weighing up to 15kg to be checked at no charge.
Excess baggage fees will be discounted by 10 percent for those passengers who advise the airline via its call centre ahead of travel what additional weight will be carried. Loyalty programme members can pay this levy with Etihad Guest Miles.
