Budget airline Mango will be the first South African airline to introduce in-flight internet using wi-fi.
Internet provider WirelessG will be providing the service, which has yet to be approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), techcentral.co.za reported, though it is scheduled to debut this year.
Nico Bezuidenhout, CEO of Mango, said that the service, which utilises satellite technology as opposed to cellular technology, would be moderated to filter out offensive content.
There will reportedly be no contracts or sign-up costs for the service. The pricing is likely to be between 40c per MB and 80c per MB, mybroadband.co.za revealed.
