The airline says the increase in flights on the route is in line with its strategy of strengthening its route network where there is growth potential, and to meet market demand. In addition the new schedules provide good connectivity to and from Africa to help the mining and business communities to use SAA?s Johannesburg hub as a major gateway into and out of Africa.
In addition to the daily Perth flights SAA has six codeshare flights per week to Sydney operated by its partner, Qantas. This brings the total number of flights offered by SAA out of the Johannesburg to Australia to 13.
The Australia route is one of SAA?s most popular routes, and in November SAA will celebrate its 52nd year of operations into Perth, making it the longest-serving foreign airline in Western Australia.
