Meanwhile Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is offering customers in South Africa rock-bottom fares as part of a sales promotion to highlight the new destinations launched by the airline this year.

The offer is available to customers who book seats on selected flights from South Africa until 15 June. The offer applies to more than a dozen routes across Etihad’s global network, with return flights starting from R2990.

The destinations included in the promotion are: Abu Dhabi/Dubai from R2990; Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Riyadh from R3015; Almaty, Astana, Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Manchester, Milan, Minsk, Moscow and Munich from R4300.

This summer sees Etihad launch new flights to Istanbul on Monday, 1 June, Athens on Tuesday, 2 June and Larnaca on 14 June and, as part of the promotion, Etihad is offering customers special fares to highlight these new destinations. Fares to Istanbul, Athens and Larnaca start from R4306.
