Airline giant Emirates has responded to the United States’ ban on electronic devices on board flights from several countries by offering a loan device service to first and business-class passengers.
The carrier says that these passengers will now be able to borrow Microsoft Surface tablets on-board, ensuring no break in productivity.
The devices, says Emirates, will be equipped with the latest edition of Microsoft Office, and will be available on all flights from Dubai to the US.
Best of all, the service is completely complimentary.
This isn’t the first time that Emirates has adapted to the ban. Since last month, the airline has offered a ‘handling service’ which allows passengers the freedom of using their devices right up until boarding, saving them the trouble of packing laptops and tablets away in their checked luggage.
Devices can be checked in at boarding gates, and are kept safe during transit before being returned at the destination.
