Almost three years after the plane went missing, the search for missing flight MH370 has been called off.
We have a timeline of major events regarding the plane's disappearance and the subsequent search, such as the first discovery of debris from the plane, the decision of families of the victims to launch a variety of lawsuits and the final end of the search.
Despite being called off, the search has yielded few answers on the plane's disappearance. The reason the plane veered off course and plunged into the sea remains unknown, as well as the plane's final resting place.
While the search is closed, many relatives of the 239 victims don't have closure on the fate of their loved ones. In fact, there are some who still hold out hope that some of the victims somehow survived.
