Why fly halfway across the world for an exotic Island vacation when we've got a perfectly good one right here on our African shores?
All you would need to do is journey across the Mozambican coast (right off Vilanculos) and you'll soon find an exotic paradise like no other... Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort.
Save On Time and Costs
Travelling halfway across the world is a time consuming affair; the Airlink flight from Johannesburg to Vilanculos, however, is a mere one and a half hours. Add in the cushiony seating, swift service, complimentary meal/beverages – and you’ve got a bonus like no other.
After landing in Vilanculos, first stop is the beach where a 40 minute boat ride to the Island awaits. Once there, you won’t be able to usher out a word – grains of luscious brown sand, crystal clear waters, curvy green palm trees, cloudless blue skies, scenic sunsets, rustic architecture, picturesque sights and the sudden realisation that you’ll be staying on this tropical secluded paradise will no doubt render one speechless.
Activities are in abundance
Venture further into the Island (way beyond the resort) and you will soon discover a whole other world – but more on this below. One of the many things that stand out beyond the resort is the golden, desert-like structure – the mountainous sandy dunes. Unleash the adrenaline and have swashbucklingly good time sand boarding off these magnificent beauties.
And if you’re afraid of heights no need to worry, you may board sitting down – standing is not an essential. The only obstacle is getting up these dunes, but boarding down is well worth that workout.
Kayak into the gorgeous sunset and enjoy the breathtaking view, whilst rowing gently through the calming ocean right in front of the resort.
An undersea adventure
You could also leave the Island for the day (by boat of course) and journey to the deserted and oceanic Paradise Island (aka: Santa Carolina) where one season of Survivor South Africa took place.
