Abu Dhabi’s world-famous Yas Island will soon play host to Warner Bros. World, a theme park focusing on the entertainment giant’s DC superheroes and Looney Toons characters, among others.
The facility, under development by Miral, will cover around 153-thousand square metres and consist of 29 rides, several shows and attractions, as well as retail outlets.
The theme park has been modelled after the Warner Bros. logo, and will feature imagery from its most popular cartoons.
Kids will get to have fun with Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry, and even Batman and Superman.
The world’s third Warner Bros. theme park is set for a 2018 launch, and will join the likes of Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and the Yas Marina on the Emirati man-made island.
“Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi marks an important step in the development of Yas Island as a complete leisure and entertainment destination, and we can’t wait to share it with the world,” says Miral CEO Mohamed Abdullah Al Zaabi.
According to the city’s tourism and culture authority, Abu Dhabi aims to attract 48-million annual visitors by 2022.
That same year will witness the opening of Sea World Abu Dhabi, which will be the world’s first Sea World launched without captive orcas.
