While the holiday season has just come to an end, it can't hurt to start planning your leave for 2017.
We've created a calendar listing all the public holidays, as well as some suggested leave days so that you can make the most of your time off.
In order to make sure that you make the best out of your leave days, we suggest planning them around public holidays so that you get extra time off for less leave.
For example, in August, Women's Day falls on a Wednesday (August 9). By taking leave on the August 10 and August 11, you can end up with five days off in a row.
Our calendar below has 17 suggested leave days - less than the legal minimum of annual leave. This gives you some wiggle room and leaves you some spare days in your leave balance to take off other days.
So what are the best times to take leave?
March and April, as everyone knows, are the real public holiday galores during the year. In March, you can take four days leave to end up with nine days in a row off work.
Meanwhile in April, taking eight days off around the Easter period results in 19 days in a row off work.
