The collaboration sees veteran rockers Gene Smith and Geoff Good fronting what is one of PE's most popular bands, Steal, to produce a fun evening of favourite hits from the 60's and 70's.
Steal has the honour of having won the Herald On the Go show a record-breaking three times, while Gene and Geoff were last seen together some 20 years ago in another On the Go Show winning band, Tank.
Favourites from icons such as Elvis, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Creedence, The Police, The Beatles, CSN, and the Stones will all be performed by the talented group.
Gene Smith returns from Johannesburg where he has been fronting top comedy showband 'Mellow and Jive' for the past 5 years. He is joined by award-winning vocalist and Uncle Tin, the up-beat Geoff Good who has been singing and recording with SA's best bands for many years.
The rhythm section is handled by Kevin Matthys on drums with brother Deon on bass, both also part of the popular 'Born to Be Wild' show, this time with Tienie Smith taking lead guitar honours.
Glamour interest is added by Melissa Thomas, who currently performs with Deon in their duo 'Bump'.
Humour is injected through a series of send-ups and colourful character creations undertaken by Gene Smith and a series of medleys take the audience on an ever-changing journey.
Cooking up a musical storm, combining the hits of yesteryear with a blend of harmony, comedy and the highest musicianship, Let the Good Times Roll trades freely on nostalgia and represents genuine fun and surprises for everyone looking to bop, boogie and laugh.
