Four people were killed by lightning while hiking in Poland's southern Pieniny mountain range, emergency services said on Friday.
"Everything seems to indicate they were killed by lightning. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death," Mariusz Zarod from Poland's mountain rescue service said, quoted by PAP news agency.
He said the hikers, a couple in their fifties and their daughter and her boyfriend, were found dead after a two-day search.
They vanished overnight Wednesday to Thursday after they went off the trail in search of a refuge when a violent storm struck the area.
Emergency services were alerted by the couple's son.
