There's good news for bush-loving travellers who've struggled to get a booking in the Kruger National Park over the long school holidays.

South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that some camps block-booked to MATCH ? the accommodation partner for the FIFA World Cup ? will be open for public bookings from Thursday 4 march.

SANParks had allocated a third of its overall rooms to MATCH, but the Skukuza, Pretoriuskop and Berg-en-Dal camps had, until now, been fully allocated to MATCH.

The new inventory will be available for bookings on www.sanparks.org from March 4, but to reduce speculative bookings SANParks will require a 50 percent deposit within 10 days of a booking for a larger group, GM Sales and Marketing, Bheki Zwane, told Tourism Update Online.

Meanwhile, SANParks has also announced that camps in the Kruger National Park will change their check-in and check-out times from Thursday, April 1.

The check-in time will change from 12pm to 2pm, while the check-out time will be changing from 9am to 10am.
