Hate the thought of getting into an icy cold hotel bed, and aren't too fond of electric blankets? One hotel is offering a human bed-warming service!

Holiday Inn last week piloted an industry first human bed-warming service at its London Kensington hotel.

According to the hotel group, the free five-minute service is ?just like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed?. Guests need only book the service and a hotel staff member ? dressed heat to foot in an all-in-one sleeper suit ? will arrive at the designated time, hop into the bed and warm it up until it?s nice and toasty.

"Like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed" is how Holiday Inn spokeswoman Jane Bednall described the idea.

The service has the support of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre, whose director Dr. Chris Idzikowski said there is ?plenty of scientific evidence to show that? Holiday Inn?s new bed-warmer service should help people achieve a good night?s sleep, especially as it?s taking much longer for them to warm up when they come in from the snow?.

Bedtime stories are not yet part of the package, but who knows what's next!
