Cape Town has made it onto Travel+Leisure’s World’s Top 15 Cities list, joining the likes of Kyoto, Florence and Barcelona.
The list is the result of a survey among the publication’s readers- a discerning and well-travelled bunch, mind you.
“Of note is what ties these contenders together,” says the magazine. “Almost all are pedestrian-friendly, possess ample green space, and have a rich history that’s being thoughtfully preserved as the city grows.”
That’s all true of Cape Town, with the Mother City being an established tourism hub and melting-pot of culture and history.
Not to mention Table Mountain, which is a global icon!
The list is topped by San Miguel de Allende, a Mexican gem steeped in history and charisma.
It’s followed by Charleston, South Carolina, and Chiang Man, Thailand.
Many of the names on the list may seem obscure, but be assured that they’re worth the hype.
The list forms part of Travel+Leisure’s World’s Best Awards, which ranks airlines, hotels and islands, among other things.
