The great white shark is undoubtedly the world’s most fearsome fish. It’s an apex predator capable of hunting all but the largest of marine creatures. It’s not to be trifled with.
Unfortunately, this group of people on a boat in South Australia this past weekend didn’t get the memo. Despite being circled by a terror of the deep, the group seemed pretty okay with it!
Granted, sharks are largely misunderstood creatures that harm relatively few people every year. Nevertheless, most people would stay far from the water after seeing this.
Speaking to The Advertiser angler Andrew Russell says that the experience was actually quite overwhelming, and that the shark just “cruised around” their boat for a few minutes.
At 4,5m long, the fish was no baby – especially when one considers that the boat it was circling was only a metre longer!
Aside from a little nip at the motor and a flick of the tail, however, it didn’t pose too much of a threat to the group, but one thing’s for sure – it’s an experience they’ll never forget.
