A new South African company is aiming to be the Airbnb of business trips, offering easy-to-find work accommodation at reduced prices.
Branded WorkTripper.co.za, it’s the sister of LekkeSlaap.co.za, and they fall under the umbrella of TravelGround.com.
The company says that it’s been built for business, finding flexible accommodation at negotiated rates of up to 40% less.
The site even has its own cashback rewards programme: TripCoins. With this digital currency, clients can 5% back on each booking.
If the user’s preferred accommodation is already booked – which is unlikely, given that there are 12 000 listed places to stay - WorkTripper suggests convenient alternatives.
Accommodation is given WorkTripper accreditation if it offers Wi-Fi, secure parking, breakfast. It also has to be serviced daily, and offer excellent service.
Users can also give feedback, improving the ranking of listings. There aren’t any fees – no service fees, joining fees or subscriptions. It’s as simple as making a booking.
The website is well-designed, and will likely get better and better as the service grows. For small businesses, it’s a great Airbnb alternative. For larger ones, it cuts out the money-chomping middleman agents.
