Say goodbye, ciao and zàijiàn with a new smartphone app that translates spoken and typed language in real time.
Being unable to speak the local language is a problem faced daily by travelers around the world.
It leads to wasted time, missed opportunities and general frustration in places where one may already feel pretty isolated.
Fear no more! ‘Odle’ has come along, providing voice-to-voice translation of a mind-melting 87 languages from across the planet, doing the same for text from 100 different languages.
According to Lonely Planet, the app has been designed with artificial intelligence processing software that makes for a free-flowing experience.
Furthermore, says the site, the app hosts a sort of social network, where posts and the like are automatically translated.
Odle is available for both Android and iOS.
