TASTE: the restaurant
"Elegance and warmth," says Raymond Blanc, are so important to the dining experience. And the celebration of food, proudly sourced and lovingly cooked, culminates in the enjoyment and celebration at the table. While the restaurant is not stiffly formal it has a stylish air, with comfortable armchairs and banquettes set in the airy conservatory area and cosy niches in the original rooms in the manor house. With the organic fare from the garden, and other produce sourced from as near to the estate as possible, the quality is truly unsurpassed.

This passion for provenance, knowing where every food and product comes from, is shared with everyone, from chefs to sommeliers and waiters: and this shared vision is the magic ingredient to an unforgettable meal.

Whether you choose an a la carte menu or go for the full experience of the six-course menu decouverte, the flavours, tastes and textures will sing on the palate. Starting with a marvellous selection of home-baked breads, and moving onto an amouse bouche of tomato essence, which is pure, fresh goodness personified, you know you?re in for a rare treat.

Layers upon layers of flavour are treated with sublime results: think duck liver confit on brioche toast, or the silkiest ravioli densely stuffed with lobster in an Asian broth; move on to delicate sea bass then duck served with the sweetest figs of the season. Desserts take the meal to another level completely with a delicate and fun pre-dessert of an apricot gel while the main star is a lovingly prepared rose and raspberry meringue with the tartest raspberry sorbet.

If there?s space, the cheese trolley is unforgettable: freshly sliced at your request, each cheese is detailed in where it is sourced from, and served with walnuts and moreish quince paste.

And to top it all, the wine list is an impeccable journey through the best the world has to offer. The sommeliers will ably suggest interesting and perfect accompaniments to the various courses. Simply sit back and be led, as you?re in expert hands.

The dining experience at Le Manoir is a voyage of discovery of new flavours and textures, matched with a light touch, seasonality and the very best produce. A visit to Le Manoir will stimulate all the senses, and have you falling in love with, and believing in, perfection.
