The winners of the World Travel Awards 2016 have been named - and South Africa made a strong showing despite hefty competition.
While regional winners were named earlier this year, the awards have now named their global winners.
The awards have a vast array of categories - from travel companies and cruise lines to accommodation and airlines.
South Africa flexed its muscles in the accommodation sector, with several local properties gaining world titles.
The title of World's Leading Boutique Hotel went to Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa - a five-star hotel located in Johannesburg.
The title of World's Leading Eco-Lodge went to the Eagles Crag Lodge at the Shamwari Game Reserve near Port Elizabeth.
A South African establishment also won the award for the World's Leading Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant - Luke Dale Roberts X the Saxon.
The title of World's Leading Private Game Reserve went to Shambala Private Reserve, while Thanda Safari won the award for the World's Leading Safari Lodge.
Finally, South Africa's Legend Gold & Safari Resort won the award for Leading Safari Resort.
